The Great Barrier Reef is one of the worlds natural wonders - a maze of reefs and islands stretching 2000kms along Australia's northeast coast

It's a tourist wonderland for millions and also a place of work for thousands of Australians

This series looks at the lives of the lucky few who call the reef their home, and the competing interests that drive and divide them as they try to live out their REEF DREAMS.

Episode One - Fish Wars

A group of fishing enthusiasts led by Arthur Dobe make a stand against plans to expand the Green Zones that they fear will exclude them from fishing along the Reef.

Episode Three - Working the Reef

For more than a hundred years the reef pilots have been providing safe passage through the treacherous waters of the Reef to an ever increasing number of ships. But like so many of the traditional professions, today they find themselves in danger of running aground.

Episode Two - Blue Thunder

Examines the trials and tribulations of  a small tourist operation as Bob and Ina at Mission Beach embark on a business expansion plan, buying their first tourist boat 'Blue Thunder'. Getting a foot hold in the lucrative & fiercely competitive tourist industry is not as easy as they thought.
